2. MM phono input

This impedance is used to calculate each transformer’s maximum cartridge load and loaded voltage gain.

3. Transformer options

Options are ranked by nominal turns ratio closest to the required 5.0 mV ratio.

The required ratio is the ideal nominal turns ratio needed to raise the cartridge’s 5 cm/s output to 5.0 mV. Transformer cards use cartridge DC resistance, transformer winding resistance and the selected MM input impedance to calculate maximum possible cartridge load, loaded voltage gain and predicted MM input level. No additional loading resistor is assumed.
